At the right you will find cultural information on how to best grow several of the plant groups we offer. As we have more time this winter, we will add to these topics.
The plants we ship are usually NOT the same plant shown in the photographs. Like most other mail order nurseries, we often show plants growing in the garden or as more mature specimens. To help you determine the size of the plant that is shipped, we try to include the pot size in the plant's description. If you have further questions, please contact us.
Plant Hardiness We use USDA hardiness zone ratings as a general guide to cold hardiness. Our ratings are based on our experience and reports from customers. Most of our ratings are conservative, and many customers report success in colder climates, especially if they have reliable snow cover, or they are willing to provide some protection such as a loose mulch. The best guide to hardiness is always the experience of gardeners in your area. Check with local public gardens, garden clubs and nurseries for the most relevant hardiness data. Many plants that are cold-hardy will not tolerate extremely hot, humid summer weather, especially warm night temperatures.
