Asiatica is a small mail order nursery in southern Pennsylvania. We have been selling plants since 1996. Our specialty is new and rarely offered plants, mostly Asian, for collectors and sophisticated gardeners in all climates. We sell both hardy and tropical plants. Among the hardy plants, we mostly sell plants for the shade or woodland garden.
We will be adding more plants for sun, and more woody trees, shrubs and vines. Many of our plants are first introductions into the US. We search nurseries and hobbyists' collections throughout Asia for the new and different. We seek to offer garden adventure for gardeners who are bored with the obvious and commonplace.
We are proud to offer what we believe is the largest selection in the US of several plant groups:
We also offer a wide variety of hardy and half-hardy orchids, woodland perennials, woody plants, variegated plants of all types, and much more.
We have dramatically increased our offerings of tropical plants. These are of interest to collectors, gardeners in warm climates, and most recently, to gardeners in temperate climates who want to use the interesting textures and colors offered by tropical plants in the home landscape. They can be used in containers or as features in beds and borders. Many can be overwintered in the house.
We have also added many species and varieties of hoyas. These tropical vines are very interesting indoor plants for foliage and bloom. We noticed that many hoya nurseries sell unrooted cuttings, so we decided to offer established plants of new and unusual varieties.
We have more ferns than ever, both for indoor gardening and the temperate and warm-temperate landscape. In particular, there are many new fancy cultivars of tropical ferns from Thailand, many with crested or frilled fronds.
We are strictly a mail order nursery with a small staff, and cannot sell at the nursery. We sometimes attend plant sales in the Mid-Atlantic region. These are announced on our home page. We have recently hosted a few open houses and hope to do so again in the future. These too will be shown on our web site's home page. Those who sign up for information and specials in the upper right corner of the homepage will also receive notification of upcoming events via email.
