These Asian beauties are often called "surprise lilies" or "naked ladies" because the flowers appear without warning and without foliage in late summer.

Plant these in light shade among ground covers or other low-growing perennials to provide a background for the gorgeous flowers.

• Likes moist, well-drained soil in sun or light shade.
• Bulbs should be planted only about 2" deep; if the bulbs are too deep they will not bloom.
