In recent years Thai growers have been selecting strange and wonderful crested and variegated forms of Euphorbia lactea, a tree euphorbia from South Asia.

These crests are grafted onto understock of the species. The grafted part starts out fan-shaped and becomes a convoluted brain-like structure in time.

  • They like bright light and warmth.
  • They require a very well-drained soil mix. Allow them to become completely dry before watering.
  • In the winter, they need very little water and can be completely dry.

The biggest cause of failure is over-watering. Otherwise they are fascinating, long-lived indoor plants.
