Tall perennial closely related to Trillium with whorls of leaves, growing to 2-3' tall when established. Has been very easy here in humus-rich well-drained soil in light shade; light to medium shade or morning sun is fine. It will make large clumps with many stems in a few years. The flowers are other-worldly, sort of sputnik-like, not showy but very interesting. The orange-red seed-heads are very showy in early fall, but the plants are self sterile so you must plant at least two plants of different clones to get fruit. Our plants are blooming size seed-grown plants; buy two or more to get the seed-heads. Sometimes takes a year or two to settle in. USDA Zones 5-9.
Grown in 3.5" pots.
