Helleborus thibetanus

Helleborus thibetanus

This is the only hellebore native to Asia (western China). It doesn't get much respect from helle-bores who want the biggest flowers on obese plants, but it has considerable charm. The foliage is dissected and fresh bright green. The elegant pale pink bells fade to white. It loses its foliage in summer so don't do as I did with my first plant and throw it away when the leaves die. Fortunately, I saw it growing on the compost pile in fall and replanted it successfully. USDA Zones 6-9.

Grown in 3.5" pots.
