Bletilla striata 'Gotemba Stripes'

This is one of the easiest orchids for the woodland garden, growing well in any humus-rich well drained soil, in light shade or with morning sun. This xciting variegated variety from Japan has variegated yellow-striped leaves and purple flowers. We have been selling this as "yellow-striped" but it needs a real cultivar name, so we are calling it 'Gotemba Stripes' after Gotemba Nursery who introduced the plant. USDA Zones 6-9.
