Alocasia lindenii

Also known as Xanthosoma or Homalomena lindenii, this is one of the most strikingly beautiful of the tender "elephant ears". The leaves are deep velvety green with brightly contrasting white stripes along the veins. It grows to about 2-3' tall and wide, and loves heat and high humidity. Best with shade and constant moisture, but not wet feet. Nice "indoor-outdoor" tropical for use outdoors in summer, and indoors in winter. It will lose its leaves if chilled, but will regrow from the rhizome. USDA Zone 10-11.
