Homalomena rubescens 'Purple Heart'

Homalomena is closely related to Philodendron, and looks much the same. This varieity from Thailand has glossy, deep red-purple heart-shaped leaves in a clump. It needs bright light to keep its color, but is otherwise undemanding, needing the same conditions as philodendron. Bold and beautiful. USDA Zone 10-11.
