Calanthe aristulifera

A rare and fairly hardy terrestrial orchid from the mountains of Kyushu island in Japan. It is a terrestrial orchid with handsome evergreen leaves and spikes of large pink flowers to about 15" tall. This is one of the rarest and most beautiful Calanthe species, rarely seen in cultivation. Grow in well-drained, humus-rich soil in light to medium shade. USDA Zone 7a-9.
