Aspidistra, or cast iron plant, has moved gracefully from the Victorian parlor to the modern home. It is a durable houseplant in a variety of beautiful forms.
The Japanese have been growing selections of Aspidistra for more than 300 years, but many of the old varieties have been lost, or have lost their correct names. We have been assembling a collection of classical Japanese varieties under their correct names, and very slowly have propagated enough to sell. Many of these have never before been offered for sale in the U.S. We are also offering species and selections from China and Southeast Asia.
