This alpine willow is one of the best species for garden use. It is a low, semi-creeping shrub with rather thick glossy green to yellow-brown stems that will hug rocks as they grow, for a beautiful effect in the rock garden. It is vigorous and sturdy, with showy catkins in spring. The thick round leaves are silvery when they first emerge. It is happy in light shade or with morning sun. USDA Zones 4-8.
3.5" pot.
